Famed Iran comedian to host Fajr closing ceremony

Famed Iran comedian actor/director Rambod Javan is to host the closing ceremony of 36th Fajr International Film Festival to be held in Tehran.

Famed Iran comedian actor/director Rambod Javan is to host the closing ceremony of 36th Fajr International Film Festival to be held in Tehran.

The festival organizers announced that the closing ceremony will be hosted by Rambod Javan at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall from 18:30 to 20:00.

Born in 1971, Rambod Javan began stage acting in 1991 and found fame after appearing in the TV series 'Green House'.

Rambod made his film-directing debut with 'Spaghetti in 8 minutes' in 2005 and received a Fajr International Film Festival Crystal Simorgh for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for 'Sinners'.

The diverse roles he took on in 'Mummy 3' and 'A Place of Love' established him as a versatile actor. Many critics, however, believe 'Pink' was the apex of his acting career.

Rambod has appeared in many other series and movies, including 'Born Again', 'Help Me', 'The Magic Coat', 'Max', 'Souvenir from Abroad', 'The Music Box', 'Adam's Son, Eve's Daughter', 'No Men Allowed', 'The Lab' and 'Conditional Release'.

Fajr International Film Festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.

The 36th edition of Fajr has been running in the Iranian capital city of Tehran since April 19.
